EBT now accepted at The Market on Cougar Way
Department: Dining Services
Eligible low-income students and families will now have an on-campus location to purchase food using their SNAP benefits thanks to a partnership between WSU Dining and the USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
As of this week, The Market on Cougar Way will accept both EBT SNAP and EBT Cash in addition to RDA, Cougar CASH and debit/credit cards.
“The Market received SNAP certification because it continually provides fresh staples such as breads, cereals, fruits and vegetables, poultry and fish, as well as dairy products,” said Gary Coyle, director of Dining Services. “We are pleased to be a SNAP provider for our local community.”
The Market, located in WSU’s Global Scholars Hall, specializes in selling items that contribute to both a healthy lifestyle and to sustainability. Many of the produce items found on the shelves are locally sourced. The store is open daily from 7:30-1 a.m. Monday through Friday and from 10:30-1 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
